CitraClean | Tough on grime. Gentle on your protection.
Your ceramic coating is supposed to make life easier. Unfortunately, road grime, traffic film and dead insects didn't get the memo.
CitraClean is our concentrated citrus pre-wash, developed to tackle stubborn dirt, bug splatter and road grime while looking after the protection you've worked hard to apply.
Even a well-maintained ceramic coating can become clogged with contamination, making its water-repellent properties less noticeable. CitraClean helps remove that build-up, allowing your existing coating to perform as intended.
Because there's no point having great protection if it's hiding underneath a layer of muck.
Why use CitraClean?
- Made for ceramic-coated vehicles: Helps remove contamination that can mask a coating's water-repellent properties, without being intended to strip the protection underneath.
- Powerful citrus cleaning: Tackles road film, bug splatter, greasy dirt and stubborn grime before your contact wash.
- Less contact with dirt: Loosens contamination before you introduce your wash mitt, helping reduce the risk of wash-induced scratches.
- More than just a pre-wash: Also useful for wheel arches, engine bays and convertible soft tops, with appropriate dilution and surface precautions.
- Concentrated and economical: Just 25ml makes a 750ml trigger bottle of ready-to-use solution. That's 48 bottles from one 1.2L container.
At £16.95 for 1.2L, that's approximately 35p per ready-to-use bottle.
Some might call theirs Better. We prefer to let the numbers do the talking.
Getting filthy has never made so much financial sense.
How to use CitraClean
1. Start with a cool vehicle
Park somewhere cool and shaded, away from direct sunlight. CitraClean is designed to tackle contamination before your contact wash.
2. Prepare your solution
Using the self-dosing chamber, measure 25ml of CitraClean into a 750ml trigger bottle and top up with water.
There's no need to make it stronger just for the sake of it. Start with the recommended dilution and let the chemical do its job.
3. Apply to the dirty areas
Spray evenly over the areas requiring cleaning, paying particular attention to lower panels, bug splatter and heavier road grime.
4. Give it time to work
Allow CitraClean time to loosen the contamination, but don't let it dry on the surface.
For additional dwell time, you can apply UltraFoam over CitraClean before rinsing.
5. Rinse thoroughly
Using a pressure washer where possible, rinse thoroughly to remove the loosened dirt and product residue.
6. Carry on with your wash
Now you're ready for your normal contact wash using Puro Shampoo and a clean wash mitt.
For heavily contaminated wheel arches and similar areas, a stronger solution may be appropriate. Always check material compatibility and test an inconspicuous area first.
A few questions we get asked
Is CitraClean safe for ceramic-coated cars?
Yes. CitraClean was developed with ceramic-coated vehicles in mind. It helps remove contamination that can mask a coating's water-repellent properties without being intended to strip the coating itself.
Will CitraClean restore the beading on my ceramic coating?
If road film and contamination are preventing your coating from behaving properly, removing that build-up may help restore its existing water-repellent behaviour.
CitraClean doesn't apply new ceramic protection or repair a coating that's reached the end of its life.
What's the difference between CitraClean and PreClean?
Both are designed to remove dirt before you touch the paintwork. PreClean is our non-caustic general-purpose pre-wash, while CitraClean is our citrus-based option, particularly suited to ceramic-coated vehicles and stubborn contamination such as insect deposits.
How much CitraClean do I need?
For routine use, just 25ml in a 750ml trigger bottle. A 1.2L container makes approximately 48 ready-to-use bottles.
A little goes a long way. Your wallet will appreciate that.
Can I use CitraClean with UltraFoam?
Absolutely. Apply CitraClean first, then layer UltraFoam over it when you want additional dwell time. Neither product should be allowed to dry on the vehicle.
Can I use CitraClean on engine bays and wheel arches?
Yes. CitraClean is useful for these areas, with dilution adjusted according to the level of contamination. Take appropriate precautions around sensitive components and materials.
Can I use CitraClean on convertible soft tops?
CitraClean can be used for cleaning convertible soft tops, but always check material compatibility and test a small, inconspicuous area first.
Complete your wash
CitraClean gets the dirty work started. Depending on your setup, these products can help with the next stages:
- UltraFoam: An optional foaming stage to help extend dwell time and enhance your pre-wash routine.
- Puro Shampoo: For the contact wash once you've rinsed away the loosened dirt.
- HydraCoat: When your vehicle needs fresh protection rather than just cleaning, HydraCoat provides a convenient way to add it.
